The Byrd girls and boys soccer teams will host second round home playoff games this week.

The No. 1 seeded Lady Jackets will play host to the No. 16 Pineville Lady Rebels on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Byrd Football Field. Pineville advanced to the second round of the Division I playoffs after a 3-1 win over Destrehan last week. Byrd had a first round bye. The winner of this match will square off against the winner of the No. 8 Fontainebleau vs. No. 9 St. Amant match.

The No. 16 Yellow Jackets will host district foe Caddo Magnet in round two of the Division I playoffs. The second round match is scheduled 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Byrd Football Field. Byrd beat Caddo Magnet 3-1 in their only previous meeting this season.

The Mustangs advanced to the second round following a very contreversial 1-0 win over the Hammond Tornadoes. In a game being dubbed "Netgate," the Tornadoes appeared to had taken a 1-0 lead over the Mustangs in the second half on a shot that supposedly passed through a hole in the back of the goal's netting. The referee apparently didn't see the ball go through the goal and the score was not allowed. Magnet would later score to capture the controversial 1-0 win.

The Byrd vs. Magnet winner will face the winner of No. 3 Acadiana vs. No. 14 Brother Martin.
